Championship CourseOur championship golf course is the centerpiece of the Mohawk Golf Club. Created by the renowned designer Devereux Emmet in 1904, it is a spectacular 18-hole parkland course. ​The course possesses uniquely designed raised greens that have contours permitting devilish pin placements, many of which are protected by strategically placed sand traps. The lush rolling fairways are all framed within the mature foliage of hardwood trees. From beginner to scratch golfer, this course holds the interest of all who play.
Our signature hole is the "Punch Bowl,” hole number 15 (pictured above). The tiara of traps surrounding the green make accurate club selection essential. It is a short par 3 and a hole-in-one is conceivable. If that doesn't happen, then you can simply enjoy one of the most beautiful, unique and distinctive holes in the country. The course simultaneously grows and stays the same with a focus on constant improvement, always mindful of the rich heritage that comes with over a century of golfing excellence. rick wolcott Golf Professional ​(518) 221-3208 rwolcott@pga.com For PGA Golf Professional Rick Wolcott his career in golf started at the Mohawk Golf Club as a caddy for 5 years, as the assistant professional at age 20 , then as Head golf professional from 1998-2008. All under the tutelage of Jim Thompson, Alex Sinclair, and John Maurycy all the clubs former PGA professionals. Winters were spent teaching at Boca West CC, Boca Rio Golf Club, The Stuart Yacht & CC and the Florida Club all in south florida. His teaching education molded by observing the former Golf Digest Schools and the great golf professionals who were his mentors. Rick has Qualified and played in the National Club Professional Championship, and two Senior Club Professional Championships. ​Now participating in NENY Seniors/Legends Rick has won two Donald Ross championships, and won other weekly events. He is 4 time PGA section Merchandiser of the Year, recipient of the Roland Stafford Sportsmanship award, and has received The NENY PGAS highest award Golf Professional of the Year in 2017. He has served on PGA Section Boards In New England, Central NY. and is presently on NENY board of Directors as the Education Co-Chair for the past four years. Excellence in customer service to his members has always been his greatest goal at any facility he has worked at. He looks forward to serving all the members at Mohawk and aiding in making it the premiere facility in the Capitol District.
